PROJECT
ENGINEER
SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION
The
Project Engineer's primary responsibilities are to market and supervise the
construction of prestressed concrete tanks in the defined market area. The
method of marketing consists of contacts with consulting engineers, owners,
industrial clients and developers. The Project Engineer is supported in the
functional areas of accounting, secretarial, engineering, purchasing and job
servicing and is expected to coordinate with these various groups to bring about
the successful bidding, construction, and acceptance of the tank project. It is
essentially a team effort from inception to completion for which the project
engineer is responsible.
This
position will require approximately one year of field training with the
"hands on" learning of how the tanks are built on the construction
site. During this Phase I period, the Project Engineer will be assigned to a
number of different construction superintendents for training. At the conclusion
of field training, the individual will be brought into the office and given
rigorous training involving the design of these tanks. This person will become
immersed in cost estimating, design review, shop drawing review, and will give
assistance to the existing Project Managers. At the conclusion of this Phase II
training, the Project Engineer will then be asked to make sales calls and assist
our existing Project Managers for a period of up to one year. Thereafter, a
successful candidate may be given full responsibility in project engineering and
administration.
The
ideal candidate should have good interpersonal skills in addition to being able
to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
SUPERINTENDENT
SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION
 The
Superintendent is responsible for project completion within budget, to contract,
with high quality and on time. He reports to the Project Manager, and provides
recommendations as necessary to improve project performance. The Superintendent
is the Company representative at the job site, and is in charge of all
operations.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Ultimately
responsible for the quality of the project.
- Responsible
for Crom's Safety Program and overseeing any subcontractors' safety
practices.
- Responsible
for toolbox meeting coordination and topics.
- Issues
safety corrections to subcontractors.
- Prepare
accident reports and related forms.
- Insure
all new employees are drug tested.
- Review
contract documents, estimates and schedules with the Project Manager.
- Inform
subcontractors of critical dates, and monitor performance.
- Provide
job cost labor and material information to the Project Manager and
accounting department as necessary.
- Update
construction schedule.
- Order
and schedule all concrete and shotcrete from pre-approved suppliers.
- Coordinate
with the Crom Job Servicing Division for materials and deliveries.
- Note
design and/or construction deficiencies, notify the Project Manager of any
potential problems.
- Provide
verbal and written communication of any job deficiency or improvement
recommendations.
- Ensure
integrity and quality of materials and installation methods.
- Produce
and maintain daily project log.
- Document
all project communication and effects with the owner, general contractor
and subcontractors, including if owner or
subcontractor caused any delays.
- Administer
annual performance evaluation of crew.
- Coordinate
work of all subcontractors.
- In
charge of hiring and firing employees for your crew and the application or
termination forms.
- For
each job, set up temporary phone, electric, water, and a clinic and
hospital for medical care.
- Inform
the owners, engineers and general contractor (if we aren't) for a project
about our methods of construction as needed.
- Train
employees.
- Fill
out timesheets for employees with proper cost codes.
- Check
all delivery tickets for proper quantities and send to office.
